Muscular dystrophy care
Spectacular muscular dystrophy care
Living with muscular dystrophy comes with several challenges. But having the right care in place, from professional healthcare assistants can bring support, comfort and hope.In the UK, 1 in every 1,000 people are diagnosed to have muscular dystrophy and other muscle wasting conditions as spinal muscular atrophy. Muscular dystrophy is an inherited genetic condition that causes the muscles to weaken over time. Changes in the genes responsible for the structure and functioning of the body’s muscles result in muscular dystrophy.
There are many different types of muscular dystrophy, affecting people in different ways. Muscular dystrophy often initially affects a particular group of muscles, before affecting the muscles more widely and causing increasing disability. Even though such conditions are rare, we provide customers living with muscular dystrophy with support from professional carers. Our carers will offer you support in the familiar environment of your own home, as well as advice and guidance for your treatment options.
We understand that muscular dystrophy and associated muscle diseases can result in different physical challenges as time progresses. That’s why we don’t simply focus on current condition, undertake proactive actions to delivering reactive and diligent care that will meet our clients’ needs as time goes by.
Research reveals that personalised neuromuscular care plans and condition-specific emergency alert cards are vital documents that can help keep sufferers safe and healthy. Our specialist teams of care assistants and nurses can provide the care that suit you and your needs and tailored to your condition.
