Job Description

Verity Healthcare Limited is looking for passionate and caring healthcare assistants to join our enthusiastic team of domiciliary carers in Truro, Cornwall. We are recruiting care assistants who have the right values — kindness, accountability, excellence, and passion — and who demonstrate a positive attitude in providing quality care and support for less able individuals. You must also be willing to develop yourself and your skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to customers with a wide range of needs, illnesses, and disabilities from door to door.
  • Assist customers with toileting, continence management, and personal hygiene.
  • Help customers get up in the morning and go to bed at night.
  • Assist customers with medication as detailed in their Medication Care Needs Assessment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of care and medication support given.
  • Prepare food and drink based on customers’ preferences, nutritional needs, and cultural requirements.
  • Provide light household duties, including housework and laundry, as per care plan.
  • Follow all health & safety regulations and report any concerns to your supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Senior Management within the scope of the post.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to commute or relocate to Truro, Cornwall.
  • Two verifiable professional references.
  • Full DBS check.
  • Compassionate nature with the ability to work under pressure and use initiative.

Desired Experience

  • Experience in Adult Care and Children/Young Persons.
  • Experience with Learning Disabilities, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Elder Care, and Mental Health Support.
  • Personal care and medication management.
  • PEG, Stoma, and Catheter care experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compassionate, self-motivated, and reliable.
