Sources of funding

There are several sources of funds for practical support and help with day-to-day tasks including state funded support, or private care facilities. The funding sources are intended to help the person with disability to acquire special equipment, adaptations to a home and  for home care visits to help with things such as personal care, shopping, cleaning and for recreational purposes.

The first step is to contact the social services at the local council to arrange a health and social care assessment in finding home support for a disabled person. There will be a visit from a social worker and occupational therapist who will state what the disabled person is entitled to and provide a written care  assessment and support plan.

There is a direct payments scheme, where the person with disability can access and manage funding for services including employing personal assistant or carer rather than relying on the local council to arrange it. This way, the disabled person has  more control over the care services and equipment that the disabled person is able to receive.

Our dedicated healthcare assistants and nurses are well trained and experienced in supporting people of all age with different physical and learning disabilities. The care and nursing staff adopt person-centred and innovative approaches to help individuals with learning and physical disabilities to reach their potential.
