The Care Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Care Manager to join our growing team in Cambridge. You will oversee the delivery of our care services, manage a talented team of care staff, and ensure that our clients receive exceptional standards of care. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, regulatory understanding, and a genuine commitment to quality and compassion in care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of care services, ensuring the highest standard of person-centred care.
  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of care staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure care plans meet evolving client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and CQC requirements.
  • Handle client queries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor and manage budgets and staffing resources to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including care plans, staff schedules, and incident reports.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, families, staff, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Care Manager or in a similar leadership position within health or social care.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of care regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with an empathetic, people-first approach.
  • Ability to create and implement personalised care plans effectively.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Relevant qualification — ideally a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
  • Experience with CQC inspections and compliance management is highly desirable.
