How we can help you at home

Verity Healthcare has many years’ experience of providing nurse-led care either visiting care where a carer will visit several times a day to support you and your loved ones or offer long term 24 hour live-in care for our clients with these complex neurological disorders.

 

We understand that each client manifests their condition in completely different ways so we do not have a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to care and support. Working in close partnership with the client, the client’s family, medical team, District Nursing service and other specialists, we have supported and enabled clients to remain in their own homes for the rest of their lives instead of going into unfamiliar surroundings such as residential care home or who might otherwise have had prolonged admissions to hospital.

Clients and their families from diverse background and with different needs have found enormous comfort with the quality of care that we provide, which goes far beyond anything they could expect elsewhere. Our aim is to enable and encourage our clients develop their abilities while assisting them with things which are more difficult.

Many of our carers have a nursing background and with extensive experience. Our nurses are registered with the Royal Nursing Council. Both the carers and the nursing staff are well trained to help our clients with neurological disorders. Our compliance officer visit you and your loved one at home to ensure that staff are offering first-class care.

While, we support you to learn to regain your skills to complete everyday tasks, our team will l motivate you to develop independence to help with your recovery. To aid in providing a smoother recovery, Verity Healthcare care workers will work with you or your loved one to:

  • Undertake physiotherapy exercises: supporting you with moving and handling exercises to strengthen your joints
  • Improve mobility: safely supporting you with standing, sitting and moving from room to room
  • Promote nutrition: cooking or collecting food shopping
  • Perform domestic chores such as washing up, vacuuming, washing laundry
  • Provide personal care including, bathing/washing, changing clothes and changing clothes
  • Develop life skills – supporting with learning new skills, education and work aspirations
  • Manage medicine – assisting with taking the right medicines as prescribed to improve health and wellbeing
  • Encouragement to relearn skills and do things for yourself to maintain your independence
  • Running errands such as collecting prescriptions or helping with the food shopping
