What makes a Verity Healthcare Care Workers special?

Skills matter. So do patience, respect and the ability to see the person beyond their care needs. Our approach brings these qualities together.

Kind and compassionate

We look for people who listen carefully, treat others with dignity and find joy in helping them live well.

Trained for their role

Carers complete induction and ongoing learning, with additional training and competency checks where an individual’s needs require them.

Carefully recruited

Our recruitment process includes suitability checks, references and appropriate DBS checks before carers provide support.

Supported by a team

Our coordinators, managers and clinical colleagues provide guidance, supervision and support as care needs change.

The difference the right care workers can make

Inviting someone into your home is a personal decision. You deserve a carer who respects how you live, understands what you enjoy and makes time to listen.

Our team takes the time to learn your preferences, communicate in a way that works for you and encourage you to do as much as you wish for yourself. We aim to match you with carers whose skills, experience and approach suit your needs.

Whether you need occasional visits, regular daily care or more involved support, we work with you to create a plan that fits your life.

How our Care Workers can help at home

Your care plan is designed with you. Depending on your assessed needs, preferences and the agreed care package, our carers can provide support with:

Personal care

Discreet support with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting, always respecting privacy, dignity and choice.

Household routines

Help with light housework, laundry, changing bed linen and meal preparation so your home works for you.

Medication support

Reminders, assistance or administration where assessed, authorised and included in your care plan and staff competencies.

Mobility and getting out

Support with safe movement, transfers and accompanying you on agreed outings, following your individual risk assessment.

Companionship and family time

Conversation, meaningful activities and practical help to stay connected with friends, family and your community.

Hobbies and interests

Encouragement to continue your favourite pastimes, explore new interests and enjoy the routines that matter to you.

Everyday errands

Help with shopping, appointments and agreed household activities, including pet-related tasks where suitable and included in your plan.

Additional health-related support

Selected tasks such as catheter, stoma or nutritional support when assessed, appropriately delegated where required, and undertaken by competent staff.

Care Workers training and development

Quality care depends on knowledge, sound judgement and practical skills. Our care professionals receive induction, role-specific learning and ongoing development to support safe, respectful care.

✓ Induction and practical learning

✓ Medication competency where relevant

✓ Safeguarding and infection prevention

✓ Supervision and refresher training

✓ Moving and handling, as required

✓ Additional specialist skills, as required

For more complex needs, we assess the skills and oversight required before agreeing care, including involvement from nursing or other clinical professionals where appropriate.

How we introduce your care team

We start by listening to you, then build a clear plan for the support you want and need.

1 Let’s talk

Tell us about your needs, preferences, daily routine and what you would like care to help you achieve.

2 Plan together

We assess your needs, agree the tasks and visit arrangements, and consider the skills and personal qualities needed.

3 Meet your carer

We aim to introduce a suitable care professional and review your support as your circumstances or preferences change.

Home care and residential care: understanding your options

Both can be appropriate choices. The right option depends on your support needs, preferences, housing and the care available.

What matters Home care with Verity Healthcare Residential care
Where you live Remain in your own home, subject to a safe and suitable care arrangement. Move to a shared residential setting with on-site staff.
Daily routines Care visits or live-in arrangements can be planned around your preferences and assessed needs. Providers have their own routines, usually with scope for individual preferences.
Family and friends Continue hosting and visiting loved ones within your existing home and community arrangements. Visits and community activities are arranged in line with the home's policies and your needs.
Level of support From scheduled visits to more intensive arrangements; continuous one-to-one cover is not automatic. On-site staff support is available according to the home's staffing model and your care plan.

An individual assessment can help determine whether needs can be met safely at home or whether another setting may be more suitable.

Choosing care is personal. Talk with our team about your needs, preferences and the support options available.

We can discuss short scheduled visits, several visits a day, live-in care and other arrangements according to your needs, location and staff availability. Contact our team to find out what can be arranged for you.

We aim to provide continuity and consider your preferred carers wherever possible. Holiday, sickness, changing needs or rotas may mean another appropriately briefed care professional sometimes visits.

We consider applicants’ values, experience and suitability, complete appropriate pre-employment checks, and provide induction and ongoing training. We assess additional competencies for tasks requiring specialist skills.
