We’re a regulated and qualify assured care provider and; unlike other care providers, we undertake enhanced background checks of all our care assistants, manage the quality of services the care staff provide, arrange cover for their breaks and holidays and handle all concerns that you may have. We’ll work with you to agree a support or care plan, conduct regular reviews of your support plan, supervise the live-in carer and provide extra training to meet your changing needs if needed. Assisting the elderly with medication

At Verity Healthcare, we consider the safety and wellbeing of elderly people as an essential part of their care. That’s why our home care workers and nursing staff will assists the older person to manage and adhere to medication routines prescribed by the GP.  Our care and nursing staff will support the elderly by:

Taking prescribed medicines from the pharmacist or the chemist to ensure that the older person does not run out of medication

Returning all discontinued medicines to the pharmacist or the chemist for safe disposal

All our staff have to complete at least level 2 training in Food Hygiene and hydration and nutrition courses. At Verity Healthcare, we understand that the older person needs to have enough food and drink to keep them nourished and hydrated at all times.

We work with the elderly and the family to ensure that nutritious food and drinks are available to the older person at all times. Our staff understand and ensure that food and drinks are prepare hygienically to avoid contamination, infection and food poising.

Our staff prepare menu to help the taste and preferences of the elderly. The menu also enables care staff to prepare culturally appropriate meals. Our care workers will also provide advice on healthy eating, assistance with exercise and encourage elderly people to drink water regularly. They will always leave a glass of water, a drink or sandwich as appropriate so that the older person has access to food and drink at all times.
